The story held my interest throughout, no skimming. I read a lot so when the storyline starts boring me, I skim. I always try to finish so if I did not skim any, it was a truly enjoyable book. SQBoring and unrealistic I really wanted to just enjoy a quick read, and this has so many 5star reviews, I gave it a shot. I don't know what it is, maybe just the combination of unrealistic details, but I can't finish. I made it to the halfway mark, but I just don't feel the urge to continue. It's written well, I guess, lots of details about how hot Konstantin is. It's pretty weird that she's basically obsessed with him as an FBI, whatever she is, she's not even an agent. She just stalks him, taking pictures, and the girl is weirdly obsessed. Like, okay, he's sexy and she watches him from afar, but her thoughts are creepy. I felt like I needed to protect him from her. Lol. Then they have the chance to insert a double, and they can make an exact replica if they're the same height and bone structure. It's not Hailey at first—it's a real agent who she considers a friend. Then Hailey gets the chance to volunteer because the girlfriend and the agent have tattoos in the same place. But surprise! Hailey is also an near parfect match for a woman who is supposed to be a bombshell. I'd buy they could make her into a double if she was a real agent for maybe the CIA, not a photographer with absolutely no training. And they're going to just do a quick surgery and she's going to learn how to be this other woman in under 3 weeks. It's just absurd. He doesn't love his girlfriend, but he misses her. For all his attention to things around him, he dismisses all the changes in not just her personality but also her appearance. Her boobs are bigger. For as much sex as he'd had with his girlfriend, this seems so stupid. It's BDSM stuff they're into, and that kinda involves getting really familiar with someone. And he just dismisses it all. He's so good that the FBI can't take him down, but he doesn't know he's being cheated on. The FBI has been trying to bust him for years, but they don't know he's actually cleaning up his territory, pushing out bad guys and taking care of the citizens, but they know he's a bad guy and has to go down. They have nothing but interrupted sexual encounters, but I think I stopped at the moment they were really going to get it on. It's just not allowing escape. Like you see a pretty scene outside, and you go to see the garden, and you suddenly run into a glass wall because of the unrealistic qualities. Then you inspect the glass and realize it's a video screen, and the outside isn't even real. Dumb analogy, but you get me. It's a slapped together good idea without the legwork to make it believable. So, if you are fine with that, maybe give it a try. If you're like me, and you like the author to do her homework, try the sample first or pass.
